For example, indoor cats have different needs than outdoor cats, and show dogs have different needs than sedentary lap dogs.

Cimarron Animal Hospital's Wichita vet customizes your pet's vaccination and wellness plans based on a variety of factors. These factors include the age, breed, activity level, health, the potential of the animal to be exposed to disease, the kind of vaccine, whether the animal is bred, and the geographical area where the animal lives or may visit.

A combination vaccine typically includes adenovirus cough and hepatitis, distemper, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. Some combination vaccines may incorporate leptospirosis and/or coronavirus. Including adenovirus-1 or adenovirus-2 in a vaccine will protect against both adenovirus cough and hepatitis.

Bordetella and parainfluenza: To prevent canine coughing we use Bronchi-Shield Oral. For dogs that are at higher risk, we recommend vaccination every six months with Bronchi-Shield Oral.

Rabies Vaccine

12 & 15 weeks*

Leptospirosis: recommended and discussed at time of appointment.
Lyme: This is only given when Lyme Disease is a concern.

Leptospirosis is recommended and discussed at the time of appointment
Coronavirus: where coronavirus is a concern.
Lyme: where Lyme disease is a concern.
Rabies: Ask your vet when rabies shots are required for your county.

* Ask your vet if your puppy may need additional parvovirus vaccines after 15 weeks of age.
